Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can’t seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a “take me home” look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker’s owner reaches out. He’s a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.

Well, Sloan’s not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can’t deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There’s no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?

I live for banter in romance books. Good banter helps the reader connect with the characters and connect to the romance simmering underneath. Jimenez has written another excellent romance and she is now an auto-buy author for me.

The Friend Zone was my favourite romance of 2019 and I thought how will she top this one?! The Happy Ever After Playlist was just as good! This book was humourous, serious and had that perfect mix of pain I’m always looking for in my romance reads. I know, I know, who wants pain in their romance books? Me! I find the eventual outcome in romance books more believable when characters have to go through some pain because that’s what real life is like.

I really enjoyed reading about these two characters and seeing them grow. Including the wonderful pup. Please have doggos in all your books Jimenez.

I do recommend reading this one after The Friend Zone because there is a spoiler in it but they can be read as standalone or you can view The Friend Zone as a prequel.

Thank you HBG Canada for sending me an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
