SYNOPSIS

Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake . . . even more than usual.

She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob, of course) are in Paris, where Cass’s parents are filming their TV show about the world’s most haunted cities. Sure, it’s fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there’s true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.

When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghosthunter — and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.

And if Cass fails, the force she’s unleashed could haunt the city forever.

MY THOUGHTS

Cassidy Blake is back! I’m so glad Schwab is writing more adventures for this middle grade world. I am not an avid middle grade reader but I just love these so much! If you were a fan of Whichwood by There Mafi then you’ll love these adventures.

In the first book we were in Scotland now we find ourselves in France. Cassidy has a better understanding of her abilities in this sequel but the ghosts come with new challenges. I love how educational these books are as well. I really learn a lot about the cities Schwab has Cassidy visit and the history.

We learn more about Jacob (her ghost bff) and his past. The friendships Cassidy cultivates in each city is just so fun. I can’t wait to see where we travel to next with Cassidy.

I love that Schwab keeps me guessing with these as well. This is such a fast read and great for all ages. If you’re a middle grader, a lover of ghosts, a nostalgic reader or even someone looking for something new and different I truly think these books are for everyone.

Thank you Scholastic Canada for sending me this ghostly adventure. I’m excited for more.
