Emily knew there would be strings attached when she relocated to the small town of Willow Creek, Maryland, for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident, but who could anticipate getting roped into volunteering for the local Renaissance Faire alongside her teenaged niece? Or that the irritating and inscrutable schoolteacher in charge of the volunteers would be so annoying that she finds it impossible to stop thinking about him?

The faire is Simon’s family legacy and from the start he makes clear he doesn’t have time for Emily’s lighthearted approach to life, her oddball Shakespeare conspiracy theories, or her endless suggestions for new acts to shake things up. Yet on the faire grounds he becomes a different person, flirting freely with Emily when she’s in her revealing wench’s costume. But is this attraction real, or just part of the characters they’re portraying?

This summer was only ever supposed to be a pit stop on the way to somewhere else for Emily, but soon she can’t seem to shake the fantasy of establishing something more with Simon, or a permanent home of her own in Willow Creek.

Are you looking for a cute read with just a smidgin of steaminess? Well Met is the perfect combination of cute and sexy and serious. I loved it! Let’s get into more detail as to why.

1. Relationships! This book focused on sibling relationships on a few levels as well as romantic relationships. I loved the family dynamics in this one and hope the authors next book has a bit of that as well. It really helps balance out the romance.

2. Small Town feel! The small town feel in this book will give you all the Gilmore Girls nostalgia. It was fun while also tackling some serious topics.

3. Captain Simon! What a cutie. I liked the male lead in Well Met. It was refreshing because he wasn’t like other alpha males out there. Had a good balance of both.

4. The cheese! Oh boy was it cheesy. It made me giggle and squinch my face a bit at times but it was so cute I couldn’t help enjoying it.

5. Emily the female lead was awesome! I really connected with her and nothing about her annoyed me (which is usually my problem when reading romance novels). I honestly was rooting for Emily the whole time. Such a great character!

Well Met definitely won me over! It’s such a cute and fun read you need to put it on your list to read. Or just go buy it right now. That’s probably the best thing you can do haha!

Thank you Chapters Indigo for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
