For generations, the Seven Prophets guided humanity. Using their visions of the future, they ended wars and united nations―until the day, one hundred years ago, when the Prophets disappeared.

All they left behind was one final, secret prophecy, foretelling an Age of Darkness and the birth of a new Prophet who could be the world’s salvation . . . or the cause of its destruction. As chaos takes hold, five souls are set on a collision course:

A prince exiled from his kingdom.
A ruthless killer known as the Pale Hand.
A once-faithful leader torn between his duty and his heart.
A reckless gambler with the power to find anything or anyone.
And a dying girl on the verge of giving up.

One of them―or all of them―could break the world. Will they be savior or destroyer?

Jeepers I was not in the right mood for YA fantasy with this one. Which is too bad because this was a good read it was just me… it wasn’t you book, it was me!

There’s something about religion in fantasy books where I usually check out if it’s heavily involved. One of the characters has a religious angle and soon as I hit that section I was a bit turned off. Again, personal preference.

The writing is clear, the characters have depth to them, the different POVs are distinguishable, the story built well but for some reason I just didn’t connect. It happens. But the important takeaway is that this may not have been for me but it most likely will be a good read for you.

You should read There Will Come A Darkness because I clearly had an off day with this book. Plus that cover is gorgeous and you need it on your shelf. Hope you enjoy!

**Thank you Raincoast Books for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**
