After the tempest, after the reunion, after her father drowned his books, Miranda was meant to enter a brave new world. Naples awaited her, and Ferdinand, and a throne. Instead she finds herself in Milan, in her father’s castle, surrounded by hostile servants who treat her like a ghost. Whispers cling to her like spiderwebs, whispers that carry her dead mother’s name. And though he promised to give away his power, Milan is once again contorting around Prospero’s dark arts.
With only Dorothea, her sole companion and confidant to aid her, Miranda must cut through the mystery and find the truth about her father, her mother, and herself.
Are you a Shakespeare fan? Have you ever wondered what happend to Miranda from The Tempest? Look no further, we have our questions answered in the best possible way! Duckett’s debut is full of intrigue, gothic passageways, magic, darkness and hope.
True to TorDotComPub’s style they have picked a story full of emotion to publish. It’s the best part about these novellas. THE EMOTION.
Miranda arrives in Milan and it is nothing short of gloomy. She is called a monster, a wild thing. She isn’t allowed to leave her rooms without an escort, she must wear a veil to hide her face, she’s completely bullied and dragged through the mud. Enter Dorthea. A black, muslim, queer woman who is in fact a witch. The love that blossoms between these two is beautiful.
This story is mysterious and haunting. Shakespeare would have been proud of this continuation! I truly think he would’ve loved it. Well done Duckett!
