SYNOPSIS

Beneath the Sugar Sky returns to Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children.

At this magical boarding school, children who have experienced fantasy adventures are reintroduced to the “real” world.

Sumi died years before her prophesied daughter Rini could be born.

Rini was born anyway, and now she’s trying to bring her mother back from a world without magic.

MY THOUGHTS

This return to Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children is just as amazing as the first two!

My favourite thing about Seanan McGuire’s writing is her expansive world building. It is evident in her October Daye series and continues to be just as beautiful and beautiful in the Wayward Children books. She just captures your mind and before you know it you’re completely invested in the world, or in this case worlds. Come travel to the nonsense world if you hate rules. Don’t worry if you love rules you’ll fit right into logic worlds. Maybe you’re a bit of both? Just open the door to confection where nonsense with rules awaits you. It’s so fascinating and I cannot wait for more because… there has to be more!

Another amazing feature of McGuire’s books are the themes. She focuses on women in society, trans and ace characters, disabilities, and so many more topics many authors shy away from. And she does it with a subtle yet brilliant flair.

If you haven’t read the first two don’t worry you can jump right into this one even though I recommend you read them in release order.

**Thank you Tor.com Publishing for sending me a copy of the ARC. I inhaled it and adored it. Cannot wait for more!**
