SYNOPSIS
On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news:
They’re going to die today.
Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day.
The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure and to live a lifetime in a single day.
MY THOUGHTS
This book has made me want to read more contemporary! What a GREAT story. I was hooked and found the splash of sci-fi elements to be refreshing in this story.
The characters had so much depth to them and from page one Mateo became my special bean. I grew so attached to his character it completely threw me off guard. When I read fantasy I know I love a book when I find myself completely attached to the characters. With contemporary this is so rare that I couldn’t believe how much I wanted Mateo to just be okay. Never have I wanted the title of a book to be WRONG as much as I wanted this one to be.
I learned an important lesson from this book, I really do not want to know when my time comes. Nope, I don’t want to know. Adam Silvera you have seriously freaked me out.
Ps. Did you notice their shadow makes THE GRIM REAPER?! Look closely.
