The year is 2059. Nineteen-year-old Paige Mahoney is working in the criminal underworld of Scion London, based at Seven Dials, employed by a man named Jaxon Hall. Her job: to scout for information by breaking into people’s minds. For Paige is a dreamwalker, a clairvoyant and, in the world of Scion, she commits treason simply by breathing.

It is raining the day her life changes for ever. Attacked, drugged and kidnapped, Paige is transported to Oxford – a city kept secret for two hundred years, controlled by a powerful, otherworldly race. Paige is assigned to Warden, a Rephaite with mysterious motives. He is her master. Her trainer. Her natural enemy.

But if Paige wants to regain her freedom she must allow herself to be nurtured in this prison where she is meant to die.

It has taken me a long time to sit down and formulate my review for The Bone Season. I adore this book. It is one of my favourites and I have “coached” many a friends through the first bit. The Bone Season has a LOT of backstory and explanations to it but I promise it’s worth it once you get through the first 50 pages or so. The world is complicated and beautiful and once you grasp the world of clairvoyance you won’t be able to stop. Here’s some reasons why you should read it (and the rest of the books in the series).

  1. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT is fantastic in this book, I cannot take my eyes of Paige! She is such a wonderful female MC that I feel as if I know her. And through Paige you’re able to experience a whole new London!

  2. WORLD BUILDING has a way of making or breaking a book and this one completes elevates The Bone Season! At first you know nothing, then you think you know something, and you realize you know nothing!! It’s perfectly crafted and it continues to build past the first book.

  3. THE PLOT has action, action, action! I am completely sucked into this one because of the action! And secrets. You want to know all the little secrets Samantha has hidden throughout the series.

  4. WARDEN. * drops mic *

Pick up The Bone Season people! And if you have questions I will gladly be your resident Bone Season encyclopedia.
